I have a short attention span and a stressful job requiring long hours. A bad combination when it comes to sustaining any kind of workout schedule for an extended period of time. At least that's the excuse I gave myself every time, over the past few years, that I started trying to get in shape and then quit. I started diets and then got bored. I signed up for runs and then stopped training half-way through. I've fought the quitting smoking battle for the better part of five years.
This past spring, after a heart-to-heart with my Doctor, I decided that it was time. To focus on being healthy. To quit smoking and lose those few extra pounds that kept hanging on and needed to come off. I really wanted to get back into good shape, but I did not want to sign up for another run. I needed something different, something that would hold my attention. My friend Carrie was always talking on Facebook about this boot camp that she loved. So I convinced my sister to give it a try with me. I figured if it was complete torture, I'd at least have company. I'll be honest, our first boot camp session was torture. I thought I was going to throw up, but it also felt good, in a weird kind of way. I had promised to give it at least a month, so we went back for a second session. It still hurt. A lot. But, I am happy to say, it has only gotten better from there. David, Bruce, Lawrence, Quana and the rest of the LiveNow Fitness Family are always encouraging and supportive. The energy in the room is contagious. Now instead of letting a bad day at work be an excuse not to work out, I look forward to being able to work my frustrations out at boot camp. I always leave there with a smile. I can feel myself getting stronger every class and no two classes have been the same. Boredom? Not possible at LiveNow Fitness.
Through my experience at Live Now, I have seen RESULTS. Last weekend, I ran my first 5k in over a year. My pace was four and a half minutes faster than the last 5k I completed! I lost 6.8 lbs in the 28 Day Challenge. I can do push ups and burpees (I secretly love burpees)! These kind of results would not be possible without the support and encouragement of the Live Now Family. They are constantly pushing me to take it to the next level. The genuine concern for the health and well-being they show for everyone is unmatched. And with David's sometimes not-so-gentle reminders, I'm eating much healthier now too. I really feel as if LiveNow Fitness has inspired me to make a lifestyle change and I couldn't be happier about it.
